The Aegean Yachts bases are spread across the
Greek archipelagos, as you can see from the
indicative map above. With over 10 bases, you
have a broad choice of departure points.
Here is a base overview:
Athens: This our main base, with our main office located
on the main Athens coastal highway, a short distance from
the biggest Marina in Greece, Kalamaki. Most Athens
bareboat charters start from Kalamaki Marina, though a
few may depart from one of the other smaller Marinas
along the Athens and Pireaus coast. Crewed yachts are
mostly based in Flisvos and Zea Marinas, a few miles down
the coast from Kalamaki Marina.
Poros: Poros island with its charming protected
lagoon-like bay and bustling waterfront is an attractive
alternative to Kalamaki Marina. Easily accessible from
Athens Airport (a 30-minute drive to Pireaus followed by a
one-hour fast ferry transfer to Poros). Located 25 miles
south of Athens, and in the lovely Argo-Saronic sailing
area off the beautiful coast of the Eastern Peloponnese, it
offers the great advantage that you save two sailing days
by starting your holiday there (one day's sailing to reach
Poros from Athens, plus the return trip).
Lavrion: The mainland port closest to the popular
Cyclades sailing area, with easy access from Athens
Airport (a 30-minute taxi drive)
Corfu: This is our second largest base, located at Gouvia
Marina, close to Corfu Town.
Lefkas: This base is strategically located at the centre of
the Ionian Archipelago, with yachts departing from the new
Lefkas Marina as well as the old Lefkas town harbour close
by.
Preveza: On the mainland, just across from Lefkas island.
Located at Preveza Marina with its lively waterfront, this
base offers the advantage of very close proximity to Aktion
Airport as well as easy access to the Amvrakikos inland
sea.
Skiathos: For sailors wanting to cruise the Sporades
islands, this base is well situated at Skiathos Marina,
minutes away from Skiathos Airport.
Syros: Syros is centrally located in the Cyclades islands,
and a good starting point for visiting this area. Our base is
located at Finikas Marina, on the western side of the island,
a short drive from the main harbour.
Kos: Our main base in the Dodecanese sailing area, it is
located in the new Kos Marina, a short distance from the
old harbour and Kos Town center.
Rhodos: Located in Mandraki Marina at Rhodos Town.
Rhodos is probably the most popular island in the
Dodecanese, though Mandraki Marina is over-crowded
during high season.
Samos: Our third base in the Dodecanese, located in
Pythagoreion harbour
All our main bases are accessed by airports close by.
In addition to our main bases, we also have smaller bases
with service facilities in Paros and Naxos in the Cyclades,
Porto Heli in the Argolic Gulf in the Eastern Peloponnese,
Neos Marmaras and Porto Carras in Sithonia Peninsula in
Chalkidiki in the Norther Aegean and Patras in the Ionian.
You will receive full base information with local contact
details and phone numbers, marina diagram indicating
base office and/or yacht location as applicable, in our
"Introductory Booklet" which also contains useful holiday
planning advice, in advance of your holiday.
